I don't care where you start.
I care about how hard you're willing to work.

Mr Mokebe will take on any learner — regardless of current level, results, or how long they've been struggling. Starting from the bottom is not a problem. What he cannot work around is a learner who isn't willing to put in the effort outside of sessions. If you're looking for someone to do the thinking for you, this isn't the right fit. If you're willing to show up prepared, do the work, and be consistent — he will meet you every step of the way.

📋

Do the work between sessions

Every session ends with practice work. Mr Mokebe expects it done before the next one. Consistency between sessions is where the real progress happens — not just during the 90 minutes together.

▶️

Prepare before you arrive

Mr Mokebe has a YouTube channel covering specific topics and concepts. Watching the relevant video before a session means you arrive with real questions — and the session becomes a targeted, focused conversation rather than a first introduction to the topic.

🧠

Think for yourself — no AI shortcuts

Using AI to answer questions during a session is not acceptable. The struggle of working through a problem is exactly where understanding is built. Shortcuts during sessions take away the very thing you're paying for.

📅

Show up consistently

One session won't undo months of confusion. What works is regular, committed sessions over time. Learners who arrive prepared, stay focused, and put in the work between sessions are the ones whose marks change.

✏️

Assignments are yours to do

Mr Mokebe does not do assignments for learners. An assignment exists to teach you something — if he does it for you, he is taking that opportunity away from you. What he will do is help you understand the concepts being tested, so that you can do the work yourself. The struggle is the point.

💡
Innate ability is not enough — and it is not required either. Mr Mokebe has seen learners who were written off turn their results around completely. He has also seen naturally talented learners plateau because they wouldn't do the work. What separates the two is never talent — it's work ethic, preparation, and the willingness to be consistent even when it's hard. That's what he asks for. That's what he respects.

Maths & Science,
from foundation to distinction

Every session is structured around your child's specific gaps — not a generic curriculum. I teach until it clicks, not until the hour runs out.

Before you enquire —
quick answers.

Effort and consistency. Mr Mokebe does not require a learner to be at any particular level — he will work from wherever you are. What he does require is that the work he gives between sessions gets done, that learners come prepared (watching the relevant YouTube video beforehand where possible), and that sessions are treated as focused learning time — not a shortcut. Using AI to answer questions during a session is not acceptable. The learners who get the most out of this are the ones who take ownership of their own progress.
No — and this is intentional. An assignment is not just a task to get done. It is there to teach you something, and if Mr Mokebe does it for you, he is robbing you of that chance to learn. That is a line he will not cross. What he will do is sit with you, help you understand the concepts being tested, explain what the question is really asking, and build your understanding until you are able to do the work yourself. The struggle of working through it is not an obstacle — it is the lesson.
Sessions are R350 for 90 minutes — that's one and a half hours of focused, one-on-one teaching. Worksheets and notes are included at no extra cost. For group sessions or matric crash courses, contact Mr Mokebe directly to discuss rates.
Yes — in-person sessions are available, but the rate is higher than the online rate of R350. Because Mr Mokebe travels to you, the final price depends on the distance from his location and the cost of fuel for that trip. When you enquire, mention that you'd prefer in-person and share your area — he'll work out a fair rate based on the actual travel involved and let you know before you commit to anything.
Sessions run via video call — Google Meet, Zoom, or WhatsApp Video, whichever works best for you. All you need is a phone or laptop and a stable connection. Mr Mokebe shares his screen for worked examples and you can share yours too. It works just as well as sitting in the same room.
Mr Mokebe tutors Mathematics and Physical Science from Grade 8 through to Grade 12 (Matric). He also offers specialist supported learning for learners with diverse profiles — ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other needs — using UDL (Universal Design for Learning) methods.
It is never too late. Mr Mokebe has worked with learners who were failing and helped them pass — and with learners who were passing and helped them reach distinctions. The first session is about understanding exactly where your child is and building from there, not rushing to catch up.
Yes. Small group sessions (2–4 learners) are available and work well for friends or siblings at similar levels. Group sessions reduce cost per learner while maintaining a structured, high-quality approach. Contact Mr Mokebe for group rates.
Nothing special. It helps to bring your most recent test or exam paper so Mr Mokebe can see exactly where the gaps are — but if you don't have one, that's fine too. Worksheets and materials are provided every session.
Most learners feel more confident after the first or second session — especially when a concept that's been confusing for months is finally explained clearly. Visible results in marks typically show after 3–6 sessions, depending on how regularly sessions happen and how much the learner practises between them.
Payment details are confirmed when you book your session. Mr Mokebe will communicate payment options — EFT and other common South African methods — directly when you enquire.
